Anatomy Vision

Stuff I learned about the body from Anatomy Vision

Anatomy Vision is an app I built for viewing anatomical models using Apple Vision Pro. In the course of building, testing, and using Anatomy Vision, I ended up learning a few surprising things about the human body! Here are my favorites.

  1. The body has two bones, the “trapezium”, and the “trapezoid bone”. And they’re not in distant parts of the body, either. They are right next to each other in the hand. Med students use a mnemonic to keep this straight.

  2. We don’t have a single hipbone. There is a left hipbone and a right hipbone, in addition to the other bones in the back/center of the hip.

  3. The shoulder blades aren’t flat. At all.
